Sometimes, hobbies are perhaps the most helpful tool in fighting off a bad day. There doesn't always need to be a concrete goal in place if the idea is just to be creative.
Simply put, I manifested a bad day into something productive. A feeling became an idea and that idea led me through to a tangible, therapeutic piece.
The need to feel productive is highly intoxicating at times. It is evident to me that showing yourself the flaw in this assertion is fundamental to a healthy work-life balance in artistry.
We need reminders that our artistic value isn't strictly tied to the production of capital. Enjoying things for ourselves just because we feel like it is intrinsic to being human.
