As a graphic designer for the University of Dayton School of Engineering (SoE) assisting the Office of the Dean and the Technical Content Developer, my role was creating and maintaining promotional and internal documents/fliers. We mainly did print materials like flyers and event brochures, but I did get the opportunity to design a set of banners.
The UD brand relies heavily on concepts of light and motion, giving display headers an inner and outer glow, incorporating gradients not just in the background, but in text as accenting effects, and using arrays of dots and lines to convey motion throughout a composition. Covid interrupted a lot of the bigger plans the department had, including the banners, but it did allow me to play with the brand and try some funkier/brighter designs for one-off flyers like the ETHOS Immersions flyer or the Fun Things to Do This Weekend handout.
