I set out to update my portfolio as my personal brand evolves. I decided to stay with Webflow after looking into some Wordpress options. I still prefer Webflow's editor and toolset for my purposes. It gives me a lot of stylistic freedom that I don't think I would want to live without!
I decided to rebuild from scratch for a few reasons, but the main reason was to avoid cluttering the project with styles and animation states. I had enough I wanted to change that it made more sense to start from scratch instead of modifying the old project anyway. I kept the same color and font palette, but the overall design concept has matured. I don't know that I'm totally happy with the state of the rounded divs to house the images and text, but I can always update that easily later. I made sure to make great use of Webflow's components, reusing the title, navigation, and footer elements, among others. The project page is the most complicated part, needing some javascript solutions to connect some of the CMS items to the filtering feature. This is all accomplished inside of Webflow with Finsweet's Attributes solutions—just add the code in the page header and add custom attributes to the corresponding Webflow elements.
